1. Overview
WienNext is a real-time departure app for public transport in Vienna, Austria. Your privacy matters to us. This policy describes what data we do (and don't) collect and how we protect your privacy.

3.1 Location data
WienNext uses your GPS location to find nearby stops and display departure information.
- Processing: Only locally on your device
- Storage: Not stored. The data is only used for the current session
- Transmission: Your exact location is never transmitted to us or to external servers
- API requests: Requests to the Wiener Linien real-time API contain only stop identifiers, never location data

WienNext uses RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions and one-time purchases.
- Processing: RevenueCat processes purchase data in anonymized form
- Data: RevenueCat receives information such as purchase history and subscription status
- Your control: You can manage subscriptions through your App Store or Google Play account
- Privacy: See the RevenueCat privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
3.3 Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)
WienNext uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service from the EU (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Berlin), to understand anonymously how many people use the app.
- What is collected: Anonymous signals such as "app was launched" and general device information (e.g. OS version, device type)
- Anonymization: The device identifier is cryptographically hashed before transmission and anonymized server-side — it is impossible to identify you or your device
- No tracking: No advertising IDs, no linking with other services, no sharing with data brokers
- Processing in the EU: GDPR-compliant, no transfer of personal data
- Privacy: See the TelemetryDeck privacy policy: telemetrydeck.com/privacy
3.4 What we do NOT collect

4. Data sources
